Jason McGrath, Partner at GBAO, specializes in providing polling and strategic advice to Democratic candidates and progressive organizations. With more than two decades of experience in Democratic politics, McGrath has helped elect leaders at all levels of government from city councils to governors’ mansions and the US Senate. He oversees all aspects of research on his projects, including client management, moderating focus groups, providing detailed data analysis, and strategic campaign advice.

McGrath is a nationally recognized strategist who was named 2020 Pollster of the Year by the American Association of Political Consultants for his work with Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s come-from-behind victory in 2019.

McGrath has also advised US Senators John Fetterman (PA) and Raphael Warnock (GA) in their successful campaigns. Other clients include Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-8), Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-2), the Natural Resources Defense Council, and End Citizens United.

Jason graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. In addition to his work with GBAO, McGrath has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy. He was born and raised in Pennsylvania and currently lives in Chicago with his wife and two children.
