Karl Agne

Principal

Karl Agne, a founding partner at GBAO, has more than a quarter century of experience providing strategic planning, communications, and research services to a wide range of clients. He’s helped elect hundreds of progressive leaders, from US Senators and Governors to state legislators and municipal officials, and supported advocacy groups and local activists around the country fighting to increase wages, improve our schools, reform the criminal justice system, and protect our air and water.

Over the last decade, Agne has led polling efforts for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and House Majority PAC in more than two dozen congressional districts that flipped from red to blue and in 2022 helped win a dozen toss-up or lean Republican seats. He works with former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the E Pluribus Unum Fund to explore issues of race and economic justice in the Deep South, and with the Center for American Progress on projects devoted to combating poverty and advancing criminal justice reform.

After starting his career at Greenberg Research, Agne created Democracy Corps in 1999 and ran national research for the Gore/Lieberman campaign in 2000. His clients have ranged from Fortune 100 companies to clean energy start-ups, from professional sports franchises and cable sports networks to the Museum of Modern Art.

Agne studied government and psychology at the College of William and Mary and earned a Master of Arts in campaign management from the Graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University. He lives with his wife and four daughters in Wilmington, DE, where he serves on the board of Common Cause of Delaware.
