
Amanda Hoey is a Vice President at GBAO, where she handles all facets of research and data analytics, such as sampling, methodology, and weighting, along with writing questionnaires, presenting results to clients, and organizing focus groups and qualitative research. She has polled on tax reform, health care, paid family and medical leave, and reproductive rights, and she specializes in state legislative polling.
During the 2020 cycle, she worked with House Majority PAC to defend Democrats’ House majority, polled for Shemia Fagan’s winning campaign for Oregon Secretary of State, and led extensive research on making Washington State’s tax code fairer and more progressive. In the 2018 cycle, she helped secure Democratic supermajorities in the Oregon House of Representatives and Oregon Senate and polled for an Independent Expenditure that took back and then expanded the majority for Democrats in the Washington state Senate.
Before joining GBAO, Amanda served as the Director of Polling and Modeling for the DCCC, managing the largest in-house polling program in the Democratic community. She conducted, weighted, and analyzed over two hundred in-house IVR and live-caller polls during the 2016 election cycle. Amanda previously worked at The Feldman Group, where she managed quantitative and qualitative research projects for political clients, labor unions, and advocacy groups. She also worked on Congressman David Cicilline’s successful 2012 re-election campaign and for the Connecticut Democratic Party.
Amanda is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Survey Research from the University of Connecticut, where she also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She grew up in eastern Connecticut and currently lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her rescue dog.
